This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join the Bristol Operational Taxes Team of this Big 4 firm. The team has experienced significant growth over the last few years and needs to expand further. You will be involved in high profile global projects with great visibility with senior partners across the UK and beyond. The team has responsibility for providing operational tax advice (withholding and reporting) to clients in the UK and globally. Products include:
Glowtrack - a withholding tax database available to clients by licence
Withholding tax and reporting analysis of cross border transactions, new product offerings and group structures.
Global withholding tax reclaims
Reviewing operational tax procedures and processes within large financial institutions
US 'Qualified Intermediary' (QI) audits
Specific responsibilities
The role is an advisory one, working closely with the rest of the team which is geographically dispersed across the UK. The individual will take responsibility for:
Producing reports on the withholding tax position for various investors.
Analysing new product offerings for withholding tax and reporting implications.
Promoting GloW Track, internally, throughout the Firm's member firms and to clients.
Assisting, where appropriate, with the Firm's FATCA and QI offerings.
The majority of the team's clients are large, global financial institutions and some of the projects must be undertaken at client sites, giving the individual insight into client businesses and the opportunity for close client contact.
Qualifications

Based in Bristol but may be asked to travel throughout the UK and Europe. * Self motivated; the operational taxes team is geographically dispersed, so the individual must be able to manage their workload so deadlines are met.

Close attention to detail as the role will require that the individual is able to read legal documents such as tax treaties and loan agreements.
No previous operational tax experience is necessary, but the individual must be keen to learn.
