Our client has a significant global reach and is one of the UK's leading investment and wealth management companies. Due to significant growth in their tax team, they are keen to look at candidates looking to make that first move in house or seek a new challenge with a leading financial firm.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for corporate tax reporting, compliance and tax advisory work in respect of the non-life companies within the Wealth Management Division. In addition, the role will include exposure to life tax work and general tax consultancy services in respect of employment taxes, product taxes and fund taxation.
Key Result Areas and Responsibilities:
- Providing tax input to all relevant group projects
- Providing a tax consultancy and advisory service across the business (including Investment, Administration, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Product Marketing and Facilities Management)
- Responsibility for the maintenance and improvement of tax systems (incl. Alphatax, Equity-e, internal tax models, etcÂ…)
- Responsibility for calculating in a timely manner all chargeable gains/loss on a fully tax compliant basis
- Dealing with all non-life corporate tax compliance (incl. preparation of corporation tax computations and associated tax technical analysis)
- Producing monthly and quarterly tax reporting figures for all non-life companies within the Wealth Management Division
- Responsibility for ensuring that all intercompany Group Relief balances are accurately reflected in the books of each legal entity and settled in a timely manner in accordance with the Group Relief Policy
- Prepare year-end tax disclosures and maintain up-to-date tax accounts for all companies (incl. management of inter-company tax balances).
- Assisting the Head of Tax with the production of monthly, quarterly and annual life tax computations
- Drive forward Tax team lean process improvements in relation to all tax operations.
- Escalation of financial and regulatory risks
Qualifications/Experience Required:
*Qualified ACA, ACCA and/ or CTA
*Good all round tax technical knowledge in respect of employment taxes, corporation tax and the taxation of financial products/funds
*Good all round tax accounting knowledge
*Excellent communication skills
