One of the world's leading companies with a Swiss head office has the opportunity to join the group as Trade Affairs Officer for the EAME regions. The group employs over 26,00o people in over 90 different countries.
The Trade Affairs Officer is in charge for supporting EAME Production and Supply, Lawn and Garden, and R&D in the compliant movement of chemicals across international borders. This role also works with the Transfer Pricing and VAT group to ensure compliance and optimal duty savings.
Further responsibilities are:
* Work collaboratively with P&S, L&G, R&D, TP, and other groups to ensure that Supply Chains are compliant, financially optimal and efficient in the movement of chemicals
* As a member of the EAME Trade Affair Team, plan and implement regional trade activities
* Find innovative solutions to changes in Supply Chain and Regulations that embody both compliance and trade facilitation
* Support and serve as a member of Compliance Teams within EAME
* Represent the group externally in Trade Affairs as indicated by the Head, Global Trade Affairs
* Plan and Participate in Global and Regional audit programs
* Create new training materials for local and regional operations
About you:
* Bachelors' degree in international trade, agriculture trade, or chemistry OR the equivalent experience in working for a government or trade association in a management or supervisory capacity
* Six to eight years of experience in trade regulations: enforcing, applying, or writing regulations in any aspect of trade
* Three to four years experience with direct Customs tax work either within a company or working for the government
* High level of trade regulation knowledge, chemical regulations
preferred
* Ability to develop new procedures or process for new assignment
* Fluency in English (Arabic, Chinese, Russian language skills strongly desired); other European languages considered an asset
* Interpreting and applying international and national trade regulations to the movement of goods
* Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organization skills
