One of the largest global financial institutions is currently restructuring its tax function and is now looking for a VP to provide tax support to the front office mainly focusing on capital markets businesses, e.g equities, fixed income, currency and commodities.
The main responsibilities:
- Working with the capital markets desks in relation to various EMEA tax issues arising on a day-to-day basis
- Assisting the capital markets desks to develop and implement new products and transactions in a way which identifies and controls tax risk
- Ensuring that Group's internal tax policies and standards are implemented and upheld, including review of external advice
- Assisting the capital markets desks in negotiating tax documentation for flow business and one-off transactions
- Liaising closely with tax team members in London and globally (in particular, New York) as well as, where appropriate, with Finance, Legal and Risk colleagues in London and globally
You will need to be a Tax Lawyer with General understanding of capital markets products, have experience in providing tax support to the financial services industry and experience in reviewing legal documentation. Ideally you would have had experience dealing directly with clients.
