This large accountancy firm is looking for a manager or senior manager to join their national tax team and take responsibility for developing the firm’s tax intellectual property in the owner managed business/private client arena with a view to increasing tax fee income.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Actively seeking and identifying tax planning opportunities or other matters of interest which can be delivered to the firm’s OMB and private client base.
• Drafting “tax idea alerts” to notify partners and staff of tax planning opportunities.
• Taking a leading role in drafting instructions for tax counsel and meeting with counsel to discuss high value tax solutions and subsequently drafting roll out documentation.
• Taking part in brainstorming sessions with tax counsel with a view to identifying and developing new tax planning ideas which can be taken to market.
• Taking part in national events such as the firm’s Budget Day response and training conferences.
• Taking an active role in the firms’ technical expert groups as appropriate.
This is a high profile role and you must be technically excellent in OMB and private client tax related issues and you must also be able to communicate your knowledge to a non-tax audience. You should also be a good networker as it will be necessary to work with a variety of people within the firm.
You will be CTA and/or ACA. The STEP qualification would also be an advantage.
