A vacancy has arisen for an Associate/Senior Associate in the Private Client Team in the Bristol office of Deloitte. The individual would be part of a thriving team, which is one of the largest in the area, providing leading edge tax services to a broad range of clients.
We are looking to recruit an individual who will work within the team to prepare personal, trust and partnership tax returns. The individual will also be involved with all aspects of the general tax compliance services for a portfolio of private clients.
The successful candidate is likely to be either:
· a recently qualified tax technician (ATT) with at least a year's experience of working as part of a personal tax team, and studying towards becoming a qualified tax adviser (CTA); or
· ATT qualified in addition to having several years of experience working in a personal tax department.
As an Associate / Senior Associate you will be:
* Responsible for preparing tax returns and dealing with associated tax compliance issues, including preparing business tax computations, for a portfolio of personal, partnership and trust clients.
* Preparing capital gains computations, including having a good understanding of shareholding reorganisations.
* Reporting to managers and senior managers within the team.
* Helping to maintain client relationships by liaising between clients, third parties and managers.
* Good A Levels.
* The ATT qualification and experience as above.
* Good tax skills in relation to the coordination of compliance services on complex private clients with personal tax, business and trust involvements.
* The ability and desire to maintain good client relationships.
* Being able to liaise effectively with third parties, such as banks, investment managers and HM Revenue & Customs.
* Very good inter-personal and organisational skills.
* A high level of self motivation and "can-do" attitude.
