This financial services institution, based in central London, has an opening for a Tax/Investment Manager to join on an interim basis. Working in this contract role, your primary responsibilities will be as follows:
* To review investment reporting for the 2009 financial year to ensure all necessary information is obtained for the tax returns
* To be part of a small team working on a project to outsource the investment accounting including ensuring all the requirements of the tax department are met in the new system
* To be part of a small team bringing tax considerations into the investment management process to help improve the return to shareholders
* To assist with the Senior Accounting Officer sign off for 2010
Key criteria for this role include the following:
- You will be a qualified accountant, preferably ACA or equivalent, with experience of working in tax.
- You will have a good understanding of the treatment of corporate investor's in a wide variety of investment instruments including UK company equities, overseas company equities, authorised investment funds, mortgage backed securities etc
- Understanding of withholding taxes and tax treaties
You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work on an autonomous basis when required and project manage. Candidates will ideally be available to start immediately for this role.
