As a consulting business their work tends to be ad hoc in nature and projects can range from one-off initiatives providing bespoke solutions to specific problems, through to advising countries that are introducing VAT systems for the first time. The role will involve assisting in the delivery of bespoke assignments to their very broad client base which consists of large PLCВ’s, middle market, public sector, M&A and Business recovery services. The successful candidate is likely to be working for a leading firm of accountants, lawyers or the public sector, however if you have gained relevant В“in-houseВ” experience at a large group that would also be of interest. Joanna Longman is a VAT specialist and was previously Regional Head of VAT at one of the Big 4 firms before becoming VAT Director of a large local practice in the North West. She has been an active member of various chapters of the VAT Practitioners Group.
